About the Department
San Andreas Fire Rescue provides fire suppression, technical rescue, and emergency medical services to the entire state. Our members are cross-trained as both firefighters and paramedics. Specialized teams include Heavy Rescue, HazMat, Wildland Fire, and Air Medical. Whether crawling into a burning building or running a code on the side of the highway, SAFR is there.
Responsibilities
- Suppress structure, vehicle, and wildland fires
- Provide BLS and ALS medical care
- Conduct vehicle extrications and rescues
- Respond to HazMat incidents
- Transport patients to hospital
- Perform fire prevention and inspections
